Mp3 Speed Accelerator is an application designed by Dextronet. It enables you to change the speed of your audio files. There is a bar on the program's main window that will let you accelerate or decelerate your audio files. With it your files will be played with a different tempo. The program has an enhanced audio player that will let you listen to the original files as well as the accelerated ones. You can change the tempo from 50.0% to 400% and preview each possibility. Anybody can speed up their files with this software because it has an easy-to-use graphic interface.
Once you have chosen the tempo you like for your audio file, you can convert it by simply clicking on the 'Convert' button. The program allows you to save the output file to the same folder where the original file was located, or to choose a new folder or subfolder.
This application will help you change the tempo of Mp3, OGG and WMA files with ease. A good thing about it is that if you want to change the tempo of many audio files, you can do it all at once, since it supports batch conversion. However, that's useful only if you want to set the same tempo for all of them.
The program also enables you to add audio files into the program's main window and extract audio from them.
The application is not free, but you can download a free trial version and use it for a period of 30 days. After that, you will have to buy it if you want to continue using it.

Virtually the same program as MP3 Speed Changer (http://mp3-speed-changer.software.informer.com/). Can't distinguish ANYTHING different between the two programs except their names and the official names of their respective development companies!

And what I said there, about MP3 Speed Changer, applies here as well:

Wonderful concept. I've been using a conceptually similar program, FasterAudio, for going on two years. I *love* being able to listen to AudioBook Summaries at between 200 and 230 percent.

BUT . . . [t]here seems to be a particular speed at which their sped-up versions become garbled. For FasterAudio, that tipping point is at 200 percent. Everything sounds pretty normal (just very fast!) up to 200 percent. At 201 percent, one starts to hear some pretty significant sonic distortion, weird "echo"-y background noises, and clippy/choppy sound. As indicated above, even with the best quality original, I can't make out what the speaker is saying above about 230 percent; the distortion is just too great.

I have been looking for something to do a better job than FasterAudio.

MP3 Speed [Accelerator] isn't it. At least not at its present state of development (7/26/09; version 2.82). Its tipping point seems to be somewhere in the mid-100s percent--perhaps at 150, where the creators have it pre-set at startup. I didn't waste my time trying to figure out exactly where its sound goes to pieces. I "just" did some quick testing and realized 200% was useless, and 160% was really bad. Even with an untrained "ear," I BEGAN my compressions at 180% on FasterAudio.

Sorry.
